Aqua Sphere Is Proud to Support Army Triathlon Association Race
Swim kit specialist Aqua Sphere was proud to support the Army Triathlon Association's race - " The Aqua Sphere Army Sprint Distance Championships " - at Cotswold Water Park in May, donating a number of Kaiman goggles and Seal masks to the winners and supplying high quality drawstring bags to all competitors.
The race, which is open to all army personnel, has been run for 12 years at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, The Army Training Regiment Bassingborne and now The Cotswold Water Park at South Cerney. Over 160 competitors set off in a mass water start for the 750m lake swim followed by a 20km road cycle, finished off with a 5km run around the lake. The race is the most popular event of the season for Army triathletes and is probably the biggest club event in the country. After a hard fought and closely contested race 16 athletes completed the course in under 1 hour which places them amongst the best in the country: indeed many of the athletes will represent GB this season. The winners were Captain Scott Wiseman (55min 39 sec) and Captain Linsay Courage (58min 50 sec). Many novices took part in the event and some will progress to standard distance or even Ironman in the coming seasons. For some, just completing the event is a significant achievement.
