Aqua Sphere becomes Official Goggle Supplier to The Outdoor Swimming Society

Swim kit specialist Aqua Sphere has become the official goggle supplier to The Outdoor Swimming Society. The OSS is dedicated to increasing the number of people who experience the joy of swimming in England's lakes, lidos and rivers while raising money for charity. Aqua Sphere is supplying the Society with its popular Kaiman goggle and Seal mask, both of which deliver a comfortable leak resistant seal and a revolutionary wide-angle vision which is essential for safe and enjoyable open water swimming.

UK rivers and lakes are cleaner than they've been for 150 years and outdoor swimming is making a comeback. Established last year, this year the OSS are holding two Breastrokes swims with USA PRO to raise money for breast cancer research at Cancer Research UK, and all swimmers who raise over £200 in sponsorship will receive free Aqua Sphere goggles. The first swim is an early morning 1km dip in The Serpentine in Hyde Park, London on Saturday 28th July. The second swim is a more adventurous 3km swim in Windermere in the Lake District on Saturday 1st September when 300 swimmers will set off in small groups. The events are achievable for anyone over 12 who likes swimming and is happy to train and organisers hope to raise over £100,000 for Cancer Research UK.

"Increasing numbers of British swimmers are emerging from chlorinated captivity and enjoying the freedom of swimming outdoors," says OSS founder Kate Rew. "Fresh water is softer and silkier than seal or pool water, and there's the added delight of changing scenery and sun dappling the water. Aqua Sphere goggles give such a clear, wide-angled view of the world they're perfect for outdoor swimming - the Outdoor Swimming Society are real fans of the Seal mask which is uber-comfortable and doesn't mist up."

In addition to high quality goggles and masks for adults and children, Aqua Sphere manufactures innovative wet suits and swim skins which are designed to make outdoor swimming more pleasurable. Available from good swim and triathlon retailers, for product information click on www.aquasphereswim.com or www.outdoorswimmingsociety.com where you can register for the events and find out more about the Outdoor Swimming Society.
